Submitting a disclosure of your innovation to TOV is the first formal step in obtaining proper IP protection and commercializing your innovation. The innovation must be disclosed before any IP protection can be pursued. You are strongly encouraged to submit innovation disclosures early in the development process to avoid any potential problems and the loss of certain patent rights.
The disclosure is a confidential document that should fully describe your innovation so we can begin an assessment. A disclosure should be submitted well in advance if you are planning on presenting your innovation through publications, poster sessions, conferences, press releases, or other public communication.
Step 1: Access Disclosure Form
NYU Langone Health Employees:
TOV has developed an AI Disclosure Agent to assist innovators with filling out a disclosure and streamline the disclosure process. At this time, NYU Langone Health employees can use the disclosure agent.
About the Disclosure Agent:
The Disclosure Agent makes it easier and faster to complete NYU’s innovation disclosure form. To get started, simply upload your invention documents (research papers, grant proposals, signature sheets, etc.) to automatically populate the form fields (generated content must be verified for accuracy). Our multi-agent AI system will then review your materials, extract the key information, and automatically fill out the NYU innovation disclosure form, including innovation identifiers, potential contributors, innovation details, sources of funding, and more.
You can review and edit every field in real time, and then export the completed form as a Word document, text file, or filled PDF for submission.
NYU Employees:
All NYU employees have the option to submit an innovation disclosure by downloading the PDF version of the form and sending it to innovations@nyulangone.org.
NYU Abu Dhabi Employees:
All NYU Abu Dhabi employees, please use the innovation disclosure form linked below by downloading the PDF version of the form and sending it to innovations@nyulangone.org.
