Sherry Bergmann is a registered patent agent managing activities related to the disclosure and protection of new inventions in the physical sciences and to the transfer of technology from the Medical Center and the University to the market place. Bergmann’s responsibilities include reviewing invention disclosures, conducting prior art searches, and identifying any relevant prior art; working in concert with inventors, IP team, and business development team to determine whether to pursue patent protection; and managing outside counsel in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications to timely prepare and prosecute patent applications to obtain commercially meaningful claims. Bergmann’s previous experience includes working as a registered patent agent at a boutique IP law firm, and working as a systems engineer in the telecom industry.
