Medical Device Licensing Associate

Shivany Patel is a neuroscientist and biomedical engineer with a passion for medical devices and digital health. As the digital health and data lead at Technology Opportunities and Ventures, she evaluates innovative technologies, identifies commercial partners, negotiates licensing agreements, and promotes the creation of start-ups based on NYU technologies. She collaborates closely with the Data Sharing Strategy Board (DSSB) on data-related initiatives, ensuring the alignment of health innovations with strategic data management practices.

Patel holds an MBA in technology and entrepreneurship from NYU Stern and an MSc in biomedical engineering from Imperial College London. Her experience includes developing machine learning algorithms for prosthetic limb control and analyzing the socioeconomic impact of medical technology commercialization. While at Stern, she consulted on digital health for Pfizer, wealth management for BNY Mellon, and provided strategic guidance to biotech start-ups, delivering impactful outcomes across these initiatives.
